‘Cho Kabuki’, which has brought such excitement to people around the world, will at last be back at Kyoto’s Minamiza Theatre this June!
‘Cho Kabuki’ is a brand-new kabuki performance which combines the Japanese traditional theatre form, ‘kabuki’, with cutting edge ICT technology developed by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Co., Ltd. (hereafter “NTT”), one of the world's largest ICT (information and communication technology) companies.
Using the advanced technology of NTT, ‘Cho Kabuki’ sees the creation of a special kabuki show co-starring one of the most popular kabuki stars, Nakamura Shidō, and the worlds’ biggest virtual diva, Hatsune Miku, both of whom are enjoying success in different fields!
Just like last year, ‘Cho Kabuki’ will be staged again at the Minamiza Theatre this June!
In the regular program you can enjoy the world of ‘Cho Kabuki’ to the full, with a triple bill ‘Cho Kabuki’ Lecture, MIYAKOZOME KABUKI NO IRODORI, and OTOGIZŌSHI KOI NO SUGATAE. The regular program will start with ‘Cho Kabuki’ Lecture, that introduces audiences, including those who have never seen it before, to the charms of ‘Cho Kabuki’. MIYAKOZOME KABUKI NO IRODORI ,a new dance production, will be performed for the first time at the Minamiza Theatre. Lastly, OTOGIZŌSHI KOI NO SUGATAE , a new kabuki play first seen at the Niconico Net Chōkaigi 2020 this April, will be staged again with even more vigor.
In the limited version (a shorter program), just the new kabuki play will be performed in a shorter time period and with reasonably priced tickets, which will be a great opportunity to experience this brand-new and special kabuki in an easier and more casual way.
Don’t miss this brand-new kind of kabuki, a fusion of the real and the virtual worlds, in the June Kabuki Program at the Minamiza Theatre: ‘Cho Kabuki’!
