Minamiza Theatre (at KYOTO) Theatre Information

'Cho Kabuki' is a special stage performance which combines kabuki, a traditional Japanese theatre with a 400-year history, and cutting-edge ICT technology.
Using the advanced technology of NTT, 'Cho Kabuki' sees the creation of a special kabuki show co-starring one of today’s most popular kabuki stars, Nakamura Shidō, and the worlds’ biggest virtual diva, Hatsune Miku, both of whom are enjoying success in different fields!

This program was scheduled to be performed last year but, due to coronavirus, it was unfortunately cancelled. The latest chapter of 'Cho Kabuki' will at last be back at Kyoto’s Minamiza Theatre!

The regular program will start with a movie showing highlights of 'Cho Kabuki' that will introduce audiences, including those who have never seen it before, to the charms of 'Cho Kabuki'. After this introduction, MIYAKOZOME KABUKI NO IRODORI, a new dance production, will be performed for the first time at the Minamiza Theatre. Lastly, OTOGIZŌSHI KOI NO SUGATAE, a new kabuki play first seen at the Niconico Net Chōkaigi 2021 April, will be staged again with even more vigor.

In the limited version (a shorter program), a movie showing highlights of 'Cho Kabuki' and OTOGIZŌSHI KOI NO SUGATA will be performed in a shorter time period and with reasonably priced tickets, which will be a great opportunity to experience this brand-new and special kabuki in an easier and more casual way.
