The December program at the Kabukiza Theatre has begun!

This month's performances feature the leading 'onnagata' (female role specialist), Bandō Tamasaburō and other star actors. In "Akoya" in the Matinee, the heroine Akoya plays three musical instruments in the play. Tamasaburō and two younger actors will alternate in playing this role which is one of the most important for 'onnagata.' In addition, a new kabuki play and a dance are also performed in the Matinee. In the Evening Show, there will be a history play with many attractive features and a brand-new kabuki production adapted from Grimms' fairy tale "Snow White."
