Ichikawa Danjūrō XIII, Hakuen will perform a ceremonial kabuki pose called ‘Nirami’ at the Osaka Dotonbori on May 30th (Thu), prior to his name succession performance scheduled at the Osaka Shochikuza Theatre this coming October.

Danjūrō will make a stage announcement (‘kōjō’) and strike a pose called ‘Nirami’ from a stage on board a boat in Dotonbori, near the Osaka Shochikuza Theatre.
‘Nirami’ (a cross-eyed glare) is a special kabuki pose which only the Narita-ya family line is allowed to perform. For those who see this ‘Nirami’, it is believed that they will enjoy safety and good health throughout the coming year.
