Performance running time

The Kabukiza Theatre presents a different program each month, so the time differs for each program. Some acts last about 20 minutes, while others could last 90 minutes long. Every month, a News page will go up with the times and prices for the Single Act Seats. If you buy online, be sure to check the News page for the exact time, as it may vary slightly from the start time listed in the email.

Cautions:

  • The first row of the seats on the 4th level is close to a railing that may be visible.
  • The 4th level seats are on the top floor of the theatre and are furthest from the stage. Please note that the main stage and the hanamichi (runway) may be partially out of sight.

Watching kabuki for the first time?

Don’t worry! There will be an English captioning service where essential translations of dialogue and lyrics, as well as explanations relating to kabuki will be provided.
They are available on the ground level for Full Shows and on the 4th level for Single Act Seats. <English captioning services>
English synopses are written at the end of the Japanese program. How about buying it as a souvenir of your visit?
Opera glasses are also available for rent as well.

Kabukiza Gallery and Garden

Free admission (Admission is possible without a ticket)

The rooftop garden, located on the 5th level of the Kabukiza Tower, is a relaxing spot where visitors can enjoy nature while still being in Ginza. Beside the garden is a vermilion Goemon staircase leading to the 4th level. The tiles on the roof are patterned after the Kabukiza Theatre’s crest, the phoenix circle, but one of the phoenix is facing the opposite direction. It is rumored that if you find it, you will enjoy great happiness!

You cannot go to the rooftop garden and staircase from the Kabukiza Theatre’s main entrance.
Please take the red lift from the Kabukiza Tower on the Showa-dori to the 5th floor.

*You are welcome to spend the intermissions outside the theatre, but please make sure to present your ticket stub when you return.
